Andreas Gursky- german photographer and professor. I like his use of color and tight objects.

Don Mccullin- famous british photojournalist. I like this picture because it shows accurately what a soldier looks like in war.
Eugene Atget- pioneer documentary photographer. He tried to take pictures of all the streets in Paris before they became more modern, I think that's pretty awesome, preserving history for the next generations.
Brian Duffy- portrait and fashion photographer in England in the 60's and 70's. I picked this picture because I like the Beatles. He was one of the most famous portrait photographers of that era. I threw in the next one because I like Michael Caine.
Mario Testino- famous french portraitist-model work
Princess Diana Vanity Fair Cover photo
I really think this is a successful portrait. I think it works well for a vanity fair magazine.
Steve Mccury
American photojournalist best known for his work "afghan girl" in national geographic. I like this picture because it is documenting what is happening. I am a fan of realism. I also would like to be a national geographic photographer if I were ever to be a professional photographer.
Timothy Hogan is a famous high end product photographer and still life photographer who works primarily in New York. I like this photo because I want to try some whiskey drinks on my birthday coming up in 2 weeks.
Christian Aslund- product photographer/tries to make his shots look like old 2d video games. I like this image because it draws your eyes throughout and gives a different perspective.
Kait Robinson-beauty/fashion and portrait photographer based in Brooklyn. I tried to pick one of her popuar pictures rather than one I liked and I don't really get this. I guess this girl is trying to look attractive next to a sea shell but I don't get why it would be considered a good picture.
Jeremy Cowart- all around artist practicing many mediums and he fell in love with photography after having experienced painting and graphic design. I like the use of color in this image and the use of light. I like the splatter effect of the colors and the swishing of the lights.
Annie Leibovitz- one of the most famous portrait photographers of all time. She uses many almost fantasy like elements in her pictures. I picked this picture because it is one of her most famous and most controversial.

I like this picture by Robert Frank for a few different reasons. I like the use of light and the space behind the man. The trees offer more contrast to the light while the man offers contrast to the lower portion of the picture.

This is a picture taken by Dorthea Lange. She was a famous photographer who humanized the consequences of the Great Depression in her photography. She was also one of the important members promoting documentary photography. I like this picture because it shows pre-Japanese interment camp life for children in our country. I think it is important to remember how our country had interment camps for Japanese people.

This is The Tetons and the Snake River (1942) that Ansel Adams took. I found it on Wikipedia because they have many desirable free pictures. I chose this picture because I had heard the name Ansel Adams thrown around some this past summer and I sort of remembered why he was important. He was one of the big promoters of the National Park system and helped get it going and helped to build interest in it. Without him and his pictures who knows where the National Parks would be now. I really like him because he helped get people interested in the outdoors which I am very interested in and try to promote to people as well.
